Grand Winner — City of Mati National High School

The City of Mati National High School-Balangay City High Performing Arts of Mati, Davao Oriental emerged as the grand champion under the open category of Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan during the 39th Kadayawan sa Dabaw.
It won the P1.1 million peso cash prize over seven other competing contingents. An additional P150,000 was also given for bagging the following special awards: Best Music, Best in Choreography, and Best in Artistic Design.
Second place was The James L. Chiongbian National Trade School Performing Arts Guild of Kiamba, Sarangani got the second place and the half-million cash prize.
The third place was Banayan Performing Arts “Kanato Ini” of Banaybanay, Davao Oriental. It received a cash prize of P400,000.
The Binhi Children’s Theatre and Dance Ensemble of ASCB of Bislig City, Surigao del Sur – last year’s grand champion – settled for fourth place. The cash prize was P300,000.
The fifth place, which had a P200,000 cash prize, was won by Caraga Mandaya Performing Arts Ensemble of Davao Oriental.
The three other contingents were Kabilin Mindanao Province of Davao Occidental, Sayaw Juan Performing Arts Ensemble from Maco, Davao de Oro, and Ramon Magsaysay Central Elementary School Maganyaw Artist Ensemble from Davao del Sur. Each received a consolation prize of P50,000 each.
Under the Davao City School-based category, the Sining Sayon Dawet Cultural Ensemble of Davao City National High School emerged as the grand champion winner. It took home the P1 million cash prize.
The same school won the three special awards: Best Music, Best Choreography, and Best in Artistic Design.
The second place was Sining Mananayaw Ensemble of Catalunan Pequeno National High School while the third place went to Lapulapu Elementary School Performing Arts Company. Each received a cash prize of P500,000 and P400,000, respectively.
The Batang Bago Gallera Performing Arts Guild of Don Enrique Bustamante National High School settled for fourth place (with a cash prize of P300,000) while Lacson Performing Arts Guild of Lacson Integrated School was named fifth place winner (P200,000).
There were only seven contingents. Winners of the P50,000 consolation prize were Mana Performing Arts Ensemble of Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School and Elpidio Quirino Elementary School Music and Performing Arts. – ###
