Former Driver Files NBI Complaint after accusing an actress and two beauty queens of physical assault, torture, and serious illegal detention allegedly committed inside a high-rise condominium unit in Makati City, raising questions about accountability and due process in a high-profile dispute.

According to the complainant, the alleged incident took place on January 17 after he was accused of stealing private photographs belonging to the actress. He claimed that what began as an accusation escalated into a violent ordeal that lasted several days.

The complainant alleged that he was physically attacked and tortured by the actress and her companions, identified as beauty queen Michelle Dee and another beauty titleholder. He presented photos and medical documentation showing bruises and injuries, which he said were sustained during the alleged assault inside the condominium unit.

“I kept telling them that the photos were not with me, but they continued beating me,” the complainant said in a sworn statement. “Alcohol was sprayed into my eyes, and my eyes were poked with their fingers.”

He further claimed that two male bodyguards were present during the alleged assault and did not intervene while the three women were allegedly inflicting harm. According to him, he was not allowed to leave the unit and was effectively detained against his will for three days.

Desperate to escape the alleged abuse, the complainant said he attempted a dangerous escape by jumping from the unit located on the 39th floor of the building.

“I jumped from the 39th floor but managed to hold onto a rope,” he said. “Condominium security later brought me back inside.”

Following the incident, the complainant was reportedly turned over to the Makati Police Station, where he was charged with qualified theft. However, records show that the prosecutor’s office later dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence, leading to his release on January 22.

In response to the allegations, legal counsel for Michelle Dee and actress Rhian Ramos strongly denied the claims. Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque said that it was Dee who initially filed a complaint against the driver for qualified theft.

“The last incident involving our clients and Mr. [name withheld] was when Michelle Dee filed a criminal case for qualified theft against him,” Garduque said. “He admitted to the offense and even returned some of the items.”

The lawyer also rejected accusations of illegal detention, emphasizing that the driver was staying in the condominium as part of his employment arrangement.

“As far as our clients are concerned, there was no incident of illegal detention,” Garduque said. “Mr. [name withheld] was a resident of the condominium due to the nature of his work.”

Garduque added that her clients have not yet received a copy of the complaint filed before the NBI and assured that they would address the allegations through proper legal channels once officially notified.

“Our clients have not received a copy of the complaint allegedly filed against them. They will respond accordingly once it is formally served,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) confirmed that the complainant sought their assistance in pursuing legal action against the individuals involved. The group said it is closely coordinating with authorities to ensure the complaint is properly investigated.
