After seven years together, Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana take their relationship to the next level as they get engaged.
The couple announced it on their respective Instagram pages on Sunday, March 21.
On Carla’s Instagram, the actress shared a photo of their focused hands and her engagement ring with the caption: “A million times, YES.”
On the other hand, Tom posted a different version of the photo and quoted Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda in his caption: “I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this…”
Nice Print Photography also confirmed that the couple got engaged in October, sharing photos from the actor’s surprise proposal: “And it’s finally out. The actual wedding proposal of Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana happened last October 2020. Congratulations lovebirds.”
The two were immediately congratulated by their celebrity friends, including Heart Evangelista, Erich Gonzales, Rayver Cruz, Jodi Sta. Maria, Solenn Heussaff, and many others.
They have been having marriage talks as early as 2018, and by 2020, the actor shared his wedding plans with his long-time girlfriend.
Days ago, in an interview with the online YouTube channel GTalk TV Show, Tom was put in the hot seat when he was asked if he will be proposing to Carla soon.
“We never know. Like I said, when we’re ready,” Tom said.
“You never know, if it’s already happened or not,” he continued teasing.
Tom said all he can say for now is that “we’re ready, we’re at that stage, we’ve talked about it a lot.”
Tom also said that he could say that “she is definitely the one, so let’s see.”
Carla and Tom have been together since 2014 after working together for the GMA-7 show My Destiny. Congratulations to the couple!
