‘DOTA o Ako’ gets a Music Video Sequel 10 years later. What a nostalgic feeling it is to hear the viral song ‘DOTA o Ako again.’ 10 years later, Netflix releases a sequel to “DOTA o Ako, “featuring Aikee and Vanessa once more.

In 2011, “Dota o Ako” was a viral music video uploaded on YouTube where his on-screen girlfriend confronted the rapper with a two-choice, choosing between DOTA or Vanessa.

The video, reaching 24 million views, ended vaguely with viewers not knowing what Aikee finally decided on.

Ten years later, viewers finally get the answer with the Netflix release “Dota at Ako.” “Sa song kasi ng ‘DOTA o Ako,’ hindi nasagot kung ano nga ba ang pinili ko. Dito kasi ay masasagot ko na ang tanong na nakalutang ng sampung taon.” shared Aikee.

Like the original music video, the sequel features the same catchy tune enhanced by iconic videoke-style graphics. The sequel, titled “DOTA at Ako: DOTA o Ako 10 Years After,” reunites Aikee and Vanessa, who appear to be taking their relationship as well as their love for DOTA to a whole new level.

“To be honest, I can’t even imagine that my song 10 years ago ay magkakaroon ng sequel at hindi lang basta sequel bagkus sequel ito with Netflix. Kaya sobrang saya po ng puso ko dahil nabigyan ulit ng chance ang awiting tumatak sa tao isang dekada na ang nakalipas,” said Aikee in a statement.

Meanwhile, on Vanessa’s part, when she got the call to do a sequel, Vanessa said she cleared her schedule and immediately confirmed.

“We’ve gotten so busy individually with our careers so it was definitely time to catch up and reminisce in a super memorable and major way!” she said.

“So when I got the call to do a remake I immediately canceled my schedule and confirmed! I knew I was gonna do it! I had to do it for sure! And especially ecstatic to do the sequel with Netflix because I am obsessed!” said Vanessa.
