“Ipanumpa Ko” remix gaining wider streams

The young and talented XYNTHESIZE starts the year in a festive mood as his official remix of the iconic local hit song, “Ipanumpa Ko,” has just been released last January 10.

The song, composed by Kenneth Corvera, Adam Corvera, and Sherwin Fugoso, along with their bandmates, was executed by the famous band “Oh, Caraga.”

The original song was released late last year as part of the band’s first flagship album, “Way Sukod.” Since its release, more than four million streams have been marked on Spotify. It’s widely recognized, locally and globally, having it previously featured on their live radio performance at Wish 107.5 and chosen as one of the finalists of the International Songwriting Competition in the World Category in 2020.

While working on it, XYNTHESIZE took and compiled some clips into a teaser video, which he later posted on social media, particularly TikTok and Facebook. In less than a day, the band noticed his video and received a positive response from them and those who watched it, which motivated him to finish the remix.

As he is aware of the song’s copyright protection, XYNTHESIZE reached the band and the label manager of Kadasig, also a renowned songwriter and musical director, Jude Gitamondoc, through e-mail as a submission for consideration of an official release.

A few days later, they were happy to accept and consider it for release and provided the multi-tracks to finish the project.

L’Ray and Kelvin, who are close friends of XYNTHESIZE, helped him with the project by adding and layering instruments and sounds. Working further to finish, Larry of Big Foot Studios and Network Rome mastered the remix and later submitted it to Jude for review.

Once everything was settled, they proceeded to the contract signing and scheduled the release last January 10, in line with the Sinulog Festival Week in Cebu.

During its pre-release, Cebu’s contemporary hit radio, Y101 FM, premiered the remix and was later featured on Spotify’s editorial playlist, New Music Friday Philippines. The Visayan Pop Songwriting Campaign, widely known as Vispop, also spearheaded by Jude, commissioned the remix – as an anthem/soundtrack for their first Vispop Music Festival, headlined by known local artists like Kurt Fick, TJ Monterde, and Ferdinand Aragon, on January 11 at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.

On its first week of release, around January 12, the festival mix went high on the city charts on Spotify’s Local Pulse, peaking at #2 in Cebu, #3 in Cagayan de Oro, and #4 in Davao.

Right now, the remix has gained more than 15,000 streams on Spotify and is still counting.

XYNTHESIZE is the screen name of Xavier Yates Dedeles, who was born in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

His works take inspiration, primarily from dance and house music, and fuse it with orchestral and cultural elements, establishing profundity and meaning.

Notable acts like Nicky Romero, Angemi, and Chester Young and top record labels like Revealed, Protocol, and Enhanced supported his music. As well as radio stations around the world, like Malaysia’s top hit radio station, Hitz FM, where DJ Ice Cream played “Timeless Smile” during his warm-up set for the Borneo Music Festival 2022. “Lies” on Slovakia’s most-listened radio station, Europa 2, premiered by DJ EKG.

From small beginnings to great victories, XYNTHESIZE continues building up himself and his reputation in the industry, staying humble in his work and committed to supporting other talents to rise alongside him.
