New Boy Group ALAMAT Debuts with Single ‘kbye.’. ALAMAT, a nine-member boy group under Viva Records, has made their official debuts with a ‘kbye’ music video on Valentine’s Day, February 14.Β

Their newly released single ‘kbye’ is self-written and is in the mix of Tagalog, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Bicolano, Waray-Waray, Hiligaynon, and Bisaya.

Its single is a break-up song where it talks about a guy who was left by his beloved who harbors some resentment and confesses to being tired of their relationship but, in the end, still asks to work things out between them.

The music video also features the traditional jeepney and festive banderitas or flags.

Recently, days after the debut single was released, Lea Salonga’s attention got caught by the single ‘kbye.’ With that, she then tweeted on her Twitter account an appreciation post for ALAMAT and their debut single.

“Whoaaaaa, this is FABULOUS!” Salonga wrote in her post, February 18.

ALAMAT immediately noticed it and quote- retweeted Salonga’s tweet.

“Alamat is overjoyed. Dakal a salamat pu. Madamo nga salamat,” ALAMAT response to Salonga’s tweet

ALAMAT is a sing-and-dance group from the Philippines. They were composed of Taneo, Mo, Jao, Kin, Tomas, R-Ji, Valfer, Gami, and Alas.

All ALAMAT members come from different parts of the country. They were only formed as a group through the talent agency’s national competition called “PWEDE!” in partnership with Ninuno Media.

Prior to premiering their debut single, Alamat has been covering songs and uploading them to their YouTube channel. Last January 15, they uploaded their cover of Jaya’s “Wala Na Bang Pag-Ibig” with lyrics in Tagalog, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Bicolano, Waray-Waray, Hiligaynon, and Bisaya.

They’ve also covered fellow Viva talent, Sarah Geronimo’s hits, “Tala,” and “Kilometro.”

As of this writing, the “kbye” music video has over 327 000 views and mostly positive comments, and the top 29 trending videos on Youtube.

Alamat now joins other Pinoy pop acts such as SB19, BGYO, and MNL48.
