Traumatized Friends Or Suspects? — PAL Flight Attendant Suspects Speakout, “God is our witness and you, Tin.”

While we all agree and support to stop victim-blaming in any kind of sexual harassment, it has been cleared by the latest autopsy and medico-legal report that the body of the deceased flight attendant Christine Decena did not show any signs of being raped.

Earlier, Makati PNP released a statement saying that there was foul play including drug overdose and rape-slay that lead to her death, in contrast to the official autopsy report showing that the cause of death was Ruptured Aortic Aneurism. This initial false accusation caused people all over social media to rage and threaten these 11 men that were with Dacera that night. In separate posts, three of the suspects gave their sentiments regarding the death of their friend. One post was from Valentine Rosales, also known as Val, claiming to be a close friend of Dacera posted a picture of them together saying he loves her and another picture of himself cross-dressing with a caption saying that the PNP is confusing people with their false statements.

Another post was from Rey Englis, saying that even though this was a difficult time for them, he still asked prayers for Dacerna and her family. That the truth will set them all free.

Even the son of the singer Claire dela Fuente gave his side of the story saying they did not leave Decera. It was also said that he even tried to do CPR in an attempt of saving her.

Right now, only 3 of the 11 suspects are in the custody of the Philippine National Police. Yesterday, January 5, 2021, without a formal warrant of arrest PNP Chief General Debold Sinans released a statement that they would hunt the suspects down if they would not surrender themselves even with force if necessary. People are now torn on what to believe. Many testify that these groups of men with Dacera that night until she was found dead the next day were gays and are good friends of her. Many are voicing out how the false accusations of the authorities caused too much damage not only to the case but also to the lives of the alleged individuals. However, some are still skeptical about the other suspect not surrendering themselves. Even the bereaved mother demands a repeat autopsy to prove that her daughter did not die of natural causes. The authorities are still looking into the possibility that there was foul play using illegal drugs. Just right after the issue about rape-slay was cleared in public, new photos from the CCTV footage capturing Dacera with some of the suspects were released to the media.

Hopefully, this footage will be the way to finally resolve and put a rest to the story of Dacera’s death and remember her legacy as the happy pursuer of dreams she was. And if justice is really needed, we have yet to find out.
