A thank you from Mayor Vico Sotto. Amidst the problems arising from vaccine issues, here comes a sweet message from the youngest leader.
A big shout out and thank you direct from Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto’s mouth to two of the Philippines ‘ most influential female celebrities.
“Shoutout at ang aking pasasalamat sa Shop and Share. Nag-donate po sila ng Isang milyong Piso para sa ating vaccination program.”
Mayor Vico name Anne and Angel, who organized the Shop and Share, which the money was from.
Pasig City is one of the six cities Shop and Share chose to be the accumulated money receivers and beneficiaries. Among the chosen cities are Taguig City, Quezon City, Manila City, Pasig City, and the Philippine Red Cross.
Angel Locsin announces full details of the process of choosing, and the recipients promise to use the money fully for the operation and implementation of the vaccination part of the battle to fight COVID-19.
“In hopes of truly flattening the curve and helping our kababayans who are most in need, in the sectors of the urban poor and working groups, we have decided it is best to donate the rest of the proceeds of Shop and Share to LGUs and an organization that now have solid COVID-19 Vaccination initiatives for members of their communities. This is in addition to the funding of COVID-19 tests conducted last year.
The proceeds amounting to six million pesos (Php 6,000,000) are split to benefit 5 cities and an organization active in the fight against COVID-19.
These are the chosen beneficiaries:
Baguio City, Taguig City, Quezon City, Manila City, Pasig City, Philippine Red Cross
These beneficiaries have reassured us that the funds we are donating will be used for Vaccinations and Testing, especially for citizens on the priority list.
Again, we thank you for your support, and please know that your contributions will help our fellow Filipinos who are most in need.
Although the purchase of additional vaccines for the Pasig City is on a temporary stop due to the manufacturer’s non-availability, Mayor Vico assured that the received donation would be used for the purpose.
“I-earmark lang po natin Kasi sa ngayon wala pa namang available na Bagong manufacturer na pwede dating pag-order-an.”
