Blackpink Rosé Releases On the Ground Music Video. Blackpink Member Rosé finally releases her most anticipated first solo album, R, which includes the song “On The Ground” on Friday, March 12.

The three-minute and nine seconds music video was uploaded on the official YouTube page of Blackpink.

“On the Ground” is an English-language pop track about realizing that what is really important is oneself.

Rosé spoke about the song’s meaning on YouTube’s Released, saying, “Basically the song is kind of about looking for answers in life, for a purpose in life, and I feel like people, especially these days, can relate to it. Sometimes when you’re always kind of on that roll, you kind of forget to take care of what actually matters to you most, and it’s just a song that says that everything we need is already within us. There’s no need to go out and look for it.”

The song has deep personal roots too. On the Released, she explains that “The video kind of shows a past version of me and a present version of me. And there’s like a scene where the present version of me goes back to my childhood house, and I’m looking back at how I grew up there and what kind of dreams I had and going back to that core self. It was so cinematic and just everything that I would dream my first solo music video to be.”

YG Entertainment had announced that all the Blackpink girls would also debut as solo acts. When “On The Ground” arrived, she became the second member of Blackpink to release a solo project after rapper Jennie dropped “Solo” in 2018.

On The Ground is composed by Jorgen Odegard with ojivolta, Teddy, Jon Bellion, and 24.

The singer is set to perform the song live on The Tonight Show, starring Jimmy Fallon, on March 16.
