The South Korean boy group BTS members have been announced as Louis Vuitton’s newest brand ambassadors. The luxury brand announced it on social media and in a press release on Friday, April 23.
The fashion house also tweeted the news, along with a new photo of the guys dressed in pastel-colored LV looks. Louis Vuitton praised the members for their “uplifting messages that impart a positive impact,” according to the tweet.
“#BTS for #LouisVuitton. Joining as new House Ambassadors, the world renowned Pop Icons @bts_bighit are recognized for their uplifting messages that impart a positive influence,” reads the tweet. “Louis Vuitton is pleased to welcome members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook.”
BTS’s official Twitter account shared the tweet.
“I am delighted BTS are joining Louis Vuitton today. I am looking forward to this wonderful partnership which adds a modern chapter to the House, merging luxury and contemporary culture. I can’t wait to share all the very exciting projects we are working on,” Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh said.
Besides their music, BTS members are also well-known for their fashion and style. “Becoming global brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton is a truly exciting moment for us,” adds BTS in a press release. “We are excited for our upcoming projects with Virgil Abloh,” the boys said.
Abloh invited the seven-piece boy band to attend Louis Vuitton’s fashion week presentation earlier this year. BTS was also seen wearing Louis Vuitton’s fall collection on the red carpet at the 2021 Grammy Awards and Prada’s BE press conference in Seoul. They’ve also collaborated with shoe labels like Fila, Skechers, Reebok, Puma, and streetwear brands like Anti Social Social C.
The band wore Louis Vuitton outfits to the Grammy Awards earlier this year, where their single hit Dynamite was up for a nomination. BTS is the first South Korean group to be nominated for a Grammy award.
