Paris, France – Dorchester Collection’s Hôtel Plaza Athénée will showcase six major works by the French sculptor Michel Bassompierre, a leading figure in contemporary animal sculpture. The unique creations will be on display in the hotel’s La Cour Jardin, Lobby, Le Relais Plaza and the hotel entrance from now until April 16, 2026.

Recognisable for his powerful yet refined forms, Michel Bassompierre’s work features gorillas, bears and horses, shaped with rounded volumes designed to introduce a sense of calm. The works will create a dialogue between living forms and the timeless setting of the hotel, offering guests an immersive experience where contemporary art is integrated into the architecture of the palace.

This project reflects the hotel’s ongoing commitment to artistic creation and its support for art in all its expressions.
