Olivia Rodrigo lives her best swiftie life as she finally met her idol, Taylor Swift, at the 2021 BRIT Awards ceremony held in London, England, on Tuesday.

Olivia, the hit singer behind the song “drivers license,” has been a long-time and big fan of the award-winning and record-breaking “folklore” singer.

To mark the special occasion, Olivia posted a black-and-white photo of herself with Taylor on Instagram. The photo, taken during the show, showed the two iconic singers hugging each other as Taylor blew a kiss to the camera and Olivia made a silly face.

Olivia, 18, captioned her Instagram post with some teary-eyed emojis to show how overwhelmed she was by the long-awaited meet-up.

Olivia and Taylor showcased an endearing friendship online. In January, Olivia expressed her disbelief and gratitude when she placed on the iTunes chart, right beside Taylor.

Swift has also spoken highly of Rodrigo, whose runaway hit “Driver’s License” made waves over the summer. When Rodrigo shared the news that her single had hit the US iTunes charts beside one of Swift’s songs, “I’m in a puddle of tears,” she wrote, Swift then commented, “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud.”

On stage Tuesday night, Rodrigo performed three of her hits from her upcoming album, Sour.

In addition to “Drivers License,” she sang a rendition of her other hit single, “Deja Vu.” Rodrigo also introduced a new song from the album, titled “Good 4 U.” Set to drop this Friday, and she will also sing the new track during her Saturday Night Live set this weekend.

She also passed Swift a handwritten note at the Brits (a very Swiftian move, as Taylor loves a mysterious letter) along with notes to Harry Styles and Little Mix. Here’s hoping a collaboration is on the horizon.
