Taylor Swift’s first re-recorded album Fearless(Taylor’s Version), is here. Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, 31, on Friday dropped “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” a newly-recorded version of her second studio album.
“Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” features 26 songs, including six previously unreleased songs from the vault and running to 1 hour and 46 minutes. Taylor’s Version is a feast. It has all of the original album’s 13 songs and six more from its platinum version.
It also features the single “Today Was a Fairytale” and a remix bonus track of “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” by Swedish producer Elvira.
The new release, the first of what should be many re-recorded Taylor Swift studio albums, trended on social media before and long after it dropped.
“It was the night things changed,” Swift wrote to her 153 million Instagram followers announcing the album’s release.
The 31-year-old musician on Friday released “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” as a way to reclaim the artistic and financial control of her original recordings after her former record label sold it in a reported $300 million deal.
The masters of Taylor’s early work are currently owned by a private investment firm, after a controversial 2019 sale by music mogul Scooter Braun.

In late summer 2019, shortly after Scooter Braun’s purchase of her masters ignited a public battle between the two and renewed debate over music ownership, Swift announced her plan to re-record her first six studio albums in an effort to own her work, saying, “I just think that artists deserve to own their work, I just feel very passionately about that” on “Good Morning America.”
Critics said her fans would be pleased with the re-recording, with the singer staying loyal to the original Version 13 years on.
