The Gregorio family mourned over the death of family member- a mother  Sonya Gregorio, 52 and 25-year old son Frank Gegorio. Both were shot in the head by a policeman Jonel Nuesca in Tarlac on December 20, 2020 in Paniqui, Tarlac. The family and relatives of Sonya and Frank  calls for justice over the fatal killings.

Nuesca surrendered on the night of the incident and faces two counts of murder according to PNP Region 3 Chief BGen. Val de Leon against the cop. The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) assured a thorough investigation.

According to Atty. Freddie Villamor the lawyer of  Gregorio family, Jonel Nuesca filed “ NOT GUILTY PLEA” over the killings of the mother and son. However, many of the relatives and the neighbors are willing to testify in the court and the video itself served as strong evidence.

The incident was caught on camera and went viral on social media.  It shows plainclothes Nuesca and his daughter rushing to Gregorio’s house. The police was holding boga that he confiscated. At this point, the mother hugging her son to prevent arguing with the policeman. People in the background can be heard crying and begging. Neusca’s daughter intervened by yelling “ my father is a policeman” to Sonya. Then Sonya yelled back “ I don’t care!” to the tune of song. Nuesca threatened to kill the lady right before shooting her in the head. Then he shot Frank twice then  to Sonya again.

The incident was reported to the police and Nuesca surrendered in the police station in Rosales Pangasinan where he surrendered his firearms. Chief Lt. Col Noriel Rombaoa of Paniqui Municipal Police Station said that Nuesca had admitted and regretted his crime following his surrender to the police.
